My Model Collection Video

I've finally found the video of my model collection on Google Video. I uploaded it months ago, but the video seems to be abducted by aliens, or probably being transferred to the 'other world'... too much X Files lately. I guess YouTube is much more reliable in video sharing (just my personal thought), however my friends in the uni would see nothing from the lab's PCs, since the management banned the site for quite some time now. So, I would go for Google Video instead.

The video was shot a few months back when I was doing my video assignment, then edited using Adobe Premiere. The video's a bit shaky, since I didn't use the tripod. At one point, you can see, and hear as well, the camera hitting one of my model (if not mistaken, my HG 1-144 Tallgeese) when the lens went in too close to the models. Count that as uncut NG if you like :-D. And the audio, it's just the radio show I was listening to when the video was shot, so the male voice isn't me, and the female voice isn't my girlfriend either.

These aren’t all the models actually, some are laying in their boxes crying, ToT as there’s no more space left in my little cupboard, which is at the moment, pretty overpopulated.

Guess before I get anymore models, I got to get me-self a new cupboard O_o
If you like it, you can tag it into your blog and help to advertise it for me! Muahahaha~

Alliance Vs. ZAFT II Plus Movie

I don't have PS2, so I most certainly haven't play this game, but seeing all the action on its website makes me want to burn my wallet on a PS2 right away (even though everyone is talking about PS3 now). Looking at the animation, which didn't say anything about controls or usability, it's still pretty damn cool and worth the money on the game. And Lacus is available as the choice pilot too :-)

Gotta watch the animation!

What's Up

A bit of updates on some of my favorite model reviews and modelers’ websites:

Danny Choo – Danny the Storm Trooper is talking quite a bit about the release of PS3 in Japan. Today’s entry is on PS3 bug. PS lovers beware.

GUNPLA blog – currently moving through the construction of MG Strike Gundam IWSP. At the moment (16 Nov, 10.36 am), the progress is up to the waist and hip armor.

Dalong.net – the Korean model review site is collecting a lot of Super Robot War mecha lately. Box art and part list of many great kits (although Kotobukiya’s molding technology isn’t as great as Bandai) like Hukebein and Alteisen are available on the site. Reviews on UC Hard Graph Ramba Ral’s set is also up since yesterday. The 1-35 Zaku head is really coolsome!

Wonder Excellence – a new (yet again) MG Freedom is up. This time the emphasis is on the heavy mechanical feel. Didn’t say anything about the next project though.

Marvin’s Gundamaniac Blog – got a gallery of PG Char’s Zaku II up recently. An old kit, but a great one nonetheless. Some awesome action like bending the waist back and forth, and a light-up heat hawk (sold separately in a custom kit pack) are among the ‘hidden goodies’ to get this kit.

PG Jadg Doga... Conversion Only

It’s been awfully quiet these few days in terms of updates on any new Gundam models. It’s not uncommon actually, since it’s so close to New Year now, the Japanese market, which include Bandai is preparing for the end of the year shopping crowd, and plans for new stuff in 2007. You wouldn’t want your customers to spend before you got more to offer, would you? :-)

Anyway, I picked up a bit of updates from G System Shop, the very ‘adventurous’ resin kit company based in Hong Kong. The company is famous for producing resin kits, and conversion parts which made headlines in the industry, for example 1-35 Ex-S Gundam, which is as big as a average kid, and the recent 1-72 Sazabi Evolved Ver. Unfortunately, their offerings are extremely expensive, and they deals in US Dollar unless you travel to their Hong Kong store. Almost all their stuff are over $100 each, excluding the paint and tools you’ll need for those kits.

I find it interesting that G System Shop is working on a new PG conversion kit now, and the one to be rolled out is Jagd Doga from Char’s Counter Attack using PG Zaku II’s kit. For those of you with question marks flying around your head, conversion kits are special parts allowing you to build alternative models based on certain existing kits. Bandai’s subsidiary B-Club is pretty famous in offering conversion kits, but there are of course other players in the field as well. G System Shop’s previous conversion kits include Gundam Ver. Ka and Guncannon using PG RX-78-2’s frame. It seems like they are going for Zeon’s line of MS now, which is great, as Bandai, very market-oriented all the time, stopped producing big scale models of the one-eyed family after PG Char’s Zaku II, with the exception of 1-12 Zaku II one or two years ago.

Jadg Doga is one of my favorites in the anime (actually I’m fond of all the Zeon’s MSs :-P). The mecha is cool, the weaponries are awesome, but the two pilots are pretty laughable. A blue Jadg Doga, assigned to an artificially-enhanced Char-wannabe loser named Gyunei and another pink one was given to a freaky girl named Quess Paraya, who didn’t really use the MS to its fullest potential. One can say that Jadg Doga is the intermediate unit between Geara Doga and Sazabi, since it’s not as strong as the later, but features funnel system, which is lacking in Geara Doga. My favorite design of Jadg Doga is the head, which has eyes like those of Qubeley, but a short beak, more like a bird’s one.

I got myself an old HG kit of Quess’s Jadg Doga, which was manufactured in late 90’s, during the time Char’s Counter Attack was shown I think. The model emphasizes a hell lot on the color molding, and the injection snap-together technology used, which is a standard nowadays but was like finding oasis back then. Anyway, I learnt about Jadg Doga from that kit, and when MG Sazabi and Nu was out some years back, I was really looking forward to MG Jadg Doga. Too bad I’m still crossing my fingers until today, when Jadg Doga only becomes smaller via the HCM-Pro version, but still no word on MG or HGUC possibility. Thus, G System Shop’s progress, which is although extremely slow, based on my experience of visiting their website, is something I’m really looking forward to.

Too bad I’ll only be window-shopping, muahahaha :-D ~

Another Random Posting

Just finished one of the busiest weeks in my MA course, just handed up some assignments, and finished on a few presentations. Those busy days kept me away from blogging, but hopefully I can return to what is now a habit of mine amidst all the homework required.

PS3 was released a couple of days ago, and being a fan of Danny Choo's website, I was aware of the commotion built up by consumers in Japan, lining up to spend their money on the machine. No sure what game is out for PS3. But Gundam fans got their early Christmas present with Gundam Target In Sight, a PS3 first-person shooting game featuring mecha from One Year War (again~). GM Striker is among two new mecha created for the game, along with Dom Cannon, which twin cannon which seems a little too small for the big guy.

Kampfer, my favorite mecha
Guncannon with a Gundam shield
Gouf Custom, featuring the all time best heat sword design ever

The MS designs are pretty cool. The 3D work is simply marvelous. Check out some of the 3D arts on Game Watch.

I just watched MS IgLoo: Apocalypse One Year War recently, and was really impressed with the story as well as the 3D fighting sequences. Don’t get me wrong; watching that anime was almost the only way I could use to get away from my burden of studies. Speaking of assignments, one of my recent projects is on 3D modeling as well. So, I have games in 3D, anime in 3D, and doing assignment on 3D. What a strange coincident ^^;

Back Blogging Again

Looking at the date, ths posting is exactly one week after the reviews on PLAMO Radicon Show. One week of no-blogging seems a bit long for me, as it's pretty much a habit now, sharing this and that on my Blog.

My university suffered an outrageous server failure for the last three days. Students using computer labs stared being unabled to even login to the school's Intranet, stared blanklessly at the PC monitor hoping for a miracle, which only arrived this morning. Imagine lab tutorials without computers.

Well, better late than never.

Don't have much news on Gundam merchandises lately, except the release of this months offerings from Bandai Hobby. Looking forward for modelers' review on 1-144 Kerberos BuCUE though. Hope that someone in Japan would buy that model quickly and put some pictures on the Internet.

Regarding news on Gundam anime, Bandai just announced that they are going to release the 08th MS Team in DVD Remastered format, with new cover design by Hajime Katoki, and some voice-over commentary of each episode. No wonder items such as UC Hard Graph EFSF Land Team (featuring several characters from the anime) and MG GM Sniper, which are related to that anime series are offered, almost all the sudden in the past Radicon Show. I watched 08th MS Team some three years ago, and it's one of those Gundam anime that really made me cry, seriously. The ending is just too sad for me. As a matter of fact, I watched UC0080: War In a Pocket at almost the same time as 08th MS Team, and cried for that one as well. Almost sent me into a period of depression really :-)

The 08th MS Team

Anyway, I have included a few new links of my uni friends' blog and Japanese modelers, just so that I have more websites to look at. Please feel free to visit them as well. Wonder Excellent's URL doesn't work anymore, but I'm trying to locate its new URL.
