1/1 Gundam RX-78-2 Statue in Shizuoka Construction Progress

A look at the current work progress of 1/1 scale Gundam RX-78-2 statue which will be reinstated in front of JR Higashi-Shizuoka Station, Aoi-ku, Shizuoka.

The construction actually started since about a month ago, as shown through the Safety Prayer ceremony held back then. These latest images show that the foundation of the statue has been prepared, and many structures are being constructed close to the statue, which will be used to ready the different components of the statue for the step-by-step assembly.

We followed through a series of progress reports on the construction of the statue when it was first displayed at Shiokaze Park in Odaiba last year. ^^ You might find that some of the images below look really familiar to the images a year ago, on how the statue was erected. ^^







The statue will be on display from July 24th this year till January 10th, 2011. It will feature a beam saber held by its right hand, something new not seen at Shiokaze Park last year.

StarCraft II July 27th Release

Finally, Blizzard announced the release date for the much awaited StarCraft II. ^^




The game will be available worldwide on July 27th. As announced 2 years ago, there are going to be 3 chapters in total. The first one to be released this July will be "Wings of Liberty", Terrans' campaign, with 29 single player missions to play. Players can choose to play as Zergs and Protoss in the multiplayer component only.

The release date for the other two chapters, "Heart of the Swarm - Zerg" and "Legacy of the Void - Protoss" is not available at the moment.

Time to get an upgrade for my PC. ^^

Gundam RX-78-2 vs Jet Stream Attack Parody

Very little Gundam updates today. Here's one funny clip to compensate for that. ^^

Gundam RX-78-2 vs Jet Stream Attack human actor ver. XD It's basically the parody on that famous scene from the original Gundam anime, played by some people with stop motion and video effect added. Also, from the looks of it, the video was made many many years ago.

Never had such a good laugh from a video clip for a very long time. XD

Correction for 1/1 HoiHoi-san's Runner Numbering

Those who purchased the reissued version of 1/1 HoiHoi-san in April need to watch out for this: Kotobukiya released an official statement showing that the numbering on one of the runners is incorrect, and one should use the manual as the correct guide.

Gundam World 2010 in Sapporo Images

Images from "Gundam World 2010 in Sapporo", which started since last Thursday (April 29th) at Sapporo Factory Atrium, Sapporo.

From the images, it seems like a smaller scale exhibition with a more general display of the Gundam world. No previously undisclosed new product or information about any upcoming Gundam merchandise is to on display there.

The event will end this Wednesday (April 5th).
