New Gundam Models from Chara Hobby 2006

Chara Hobby is another annual Japanese toy exhibition where all the major toy manufacturers, like Bandai and Wave will show their latest offerings before the end of this year. For Gundam fans, the biggest concern is of course on what's cooking in Bandai. Much to my disappointment, there aren’t many Gundam models being dished out, or maybe I should say that those being dished out are not to my preferences at all. Apart from MG Crossbone Gundam, the HGUC offering are quite ‘strange’: they are original design never appeared in any anime, manga, or previous conceptual design.

Rumors from Gunota Headlines say that there will be at least another three original designs will be produced in HGUC format, just like the two shown below. I smell something really fishy about Bandai’s current development on Gundam products. What’re they up to really?

The good news is, from the same report from Gunota Headlines, Athrun Zala’s chopped-up-by-his-good-buddy-Kira-Yamato’s Savior Gundam will be released in 1/100 scale somewhere in October.

For the time being, have a look on the few Gundam models from Chara Hobby. Images are from GA Graphic.

The success of MG F91 gives Bandai the green pass on MG Crossbone Gundam. Superb design

What's new? Dom Sniper? Walau!

GM with a double-beam saber spear - Expect close combat performances with those heavy armor? Definitely out on my list

HG 1/144 Stargazer... No comment :-)

By the way, check out photos from another toy exhibition, Wonder Festival Summer 2006 which emphasizes on sexy and cute figurines ^o^ and non-Gundam sci-fi figures on Toycan (Page 1, 2 and 3).
