Saw this since last week, but it was a little too 'shocking' for me to believe, so I waited for some time for the dust to settle, and now, it seems to have been confirmed.
The next Kamen Rider after the end of Kiva is called Decade, or DCD as seen on its official site. Here's how he look like:
Now you understand what I meant by 'shocking' just now?
A pink Kamen Rider. Now that's really not a household color for Kamen Rider eh? ^^; But most importantly, his mask. If you look at the stripes closely, you can see that they go right through his goggles as well.
Every time I see his mask, this smiley design pops up immediately: -_-|||
The box he's holding in the first picture above is actually his weapon.
I'm sure it's designed in such a way with a reason definitely. Not my favorite design, but I'm not going to trash it so soon. More information is needed before we can really say that it's bad.
Anyway, according to Wikipedia (Yup, it has a Wiki page set up already ^^), DCD, or Decade, represents the 10th anniversary of the Kamen Rider Series, having begun with Kamen Rider Kuuga in 2000. Photos from magazine show all nine protagonist Kamen Riders standing together with DCD, seems like they will make an appearance (reappear to be exact) in this new series as well.
More surprisingly, the belt of DCD has all nine Kamen Riders' crests, and he has card with their portraits, as if he can summon them, just as how Kiva summons Garulu Saber, Basshaa Magnum and others in Kiva. From other forums, rumors had it that he can actually combine more than one card to fuse different Kamen Riders as a single attack. But before that's confirmed, I'm not going to take it seriously as yet, though that alone is really a great idea for the series in my opinion. ^^
Then again, if the execution of the idea is poor, it might kill the reputation of all nine previous Riders in one go >_<
As Kamen Rider Kiva is drawing to the end, and DCD will debut right after Kiva finishes, so more information about him will come out in the next few weeks for sure. As of now, let's just try to get used to his pink outfit and barcode mask ^^;
