More on Gundam Expo Hong Kong 2008

Question: What do you notice in the photo above?
(A) The Gundam girl
(B) It's Gundam RX-78-2 this time, not 00 Gundam as shown the other day
(C) Someone is zooming the shot right onto the Gundam girl's face
(D) All the above, nothing else.

Just kidding XD

Not to mislead you, the photo is just one of the many from Quentin's awesome coverage on Gundam Expo Hong Kong 2008, currently still going on at the Metropolis Mall. A few days left before it ends on the 4th of January. Get over there and enjoy yourself ^^

1/144 Daizengar & DX Chogokin 1/60 VF-25S

Some updates from Kotobukiya on the recently released SRW OG 1/144 Daizengar.

We don't get to see many sites reviewing this kit at the moment, so this update from the company helps to reveal some of its features.

Three types of face expressions included. The clear yellow parts for the eyes look pretty good.

Sliding armor action for the upper arm ^^

Unlike the PG line from Bandai, you have to assemble the hand finger by finger.
That's good news for those who love assembling tiny parts.

The gray part beneath the knee joint has spring inside, so they can flip automatically when the knee is bent.

The armors on the back can be opened to reveal the thrusters beneath them.
Some painting for the thrusters is required it seems, if you're following the color guide.

Those three thrusters under the rear skirt armor are stuff you don't get in the non-scale version.

Metal plate beneath the feet.

'Claws' beneath the feet to help the model to stand well (?)

All images from Kotobukiya.

On the other hand, a review on the just released DX Chogokin 1/60 VF-25S Ozma Lee's Unit by Gamu-toys.

I'm more used to Ozma Lee's unit in Armored Pack ^^;

Gundam 00 Deformania & Volks's Linebarrel

Gundam 00 Deformania figures under development ^^

The design of these figures is based on their appearance in Vol 7 of the DVD release of Gundam Double O Season 1 (released on July 25th). All 12 characters planned. Information on the release date and price not available at the moment.

Images from Sukichika Blog.

On a (completely) separate note, images of the prototype of 1/144 Full Action Figure [N.E.X.T] Linebarrel from Volks:

The armor plate on the shoulder is movable to allow the movement of the arm without moving the shoulder.

The elbow joint is designed to be retractable from the forearm, for added articulation of the arm.

1/144 Full Action Figure [N.E.X.T] Linebarrel is only available through pre-order from Volks. More information about that in this previous posting.

The Closing Down of SuperModelers

Dengeki Hobby's Super Modelers has put up an announcement regarding the closing down of hobby shop SuperModelers in Akibahara by February 1st 2009.

SuperModelers just celebrated its 1st anniversary not long ago, after started business on December 14th last year. I remembered that well, because it was during one of the events at the opening ceremony of SuperModelers that the audience voted Kshatriya over Sinanju as the next MG after Unicorn through a show of hands. See this previous posting.

The reason for the closing down was not being mentioned in the announcement, and it mentioned about a big announcement in the new year (新年には大きな発表をおこなう予定です。). Maybe the shop is shifting to a new location?

I believe it's better not to be too pessimistic about the news before further information is out ^^

MG Sinanju Ver. Ka Japanese Sales & Updates on GFF

I wanted to post this earlier, but the priority went to the few postings you see these few days. Back to our favorite MG Sinanju Ver. Ka. ^^ Moeyo has the report of the commence of its sales in Japan on Christmas day.

Dozens of this MG waiting for fans to pick them up. ^^
Also, note the height of 1/144 Daizengar's box on the far left as compared to Sinanju's O_O

Definitely in the limelight right now ^^

Gundam Decal 57 for Sinanju is also be released on the same day. Seems that the markings are being separated into two sheets, for convenience in cutting them out?

A twin poster featuring Sinanju and Unicorn.
Could this be the same poster giveaway for this MG at Gundam Expo Hong Kong 2008?

The many masked men in the Gundam universe XD

Remember to get both Hobby Japan and Dengeki Hobby February issues to compliment the purchase of this MG.
There should be tutorials in the two magazines showing you how to deal with those golden emblems.

Have you gotten yours? Just like my MG Unicorn, it's confirmed that I'll have to wait till 2009 to get my hands on Sinanju (new year is just two days away from now anyway).

All images from Moeyo.

On the other hand, a couple more magazine scans I missed this morning. From Hobby Japan, the focus this time is on the GFF series:

Devil Gundam "Bloody Mary" has a demon head! ^^;

Kyoshiro Maniax Mini Fig Vol. 1 is available now on Hobby Search. All 9 types, including 4 normal colors, 4 alternate colors and 1 secret type. From the scan, the nine are FA Gundam (Blue - Green), Devil Gundam "Bloody Mary" (Red - Blue), Guncarrier (white - dark gray) and Skull Head Zaku I (different numbering on the head). The so-called "secret type" is another Skull Head Zaku I it seems.

Each set will contain 12 figures, each one of them is about 9 to 11 cm tall. 735 Yen each (inclusive of tax).

Also shown in the scans is GFF Metal Composite #1005 Z Plus [Red]. Late February release, 18,900 Yen (inclusive of tax). Same release date and price for the limited Blue version.

Magazine scans are from Toysdaily.

"Euclides" references "Euclid of Alexandria", the Father of Geometry from ancient Greek I think.
