The End of Gunota Headlines?

It's a bit too early for April Fool eh?

One of the first things I would do every time I log on to the Internet is to go to Gunota Headlines to check for Gundam updates. Having to see the above announcement is very very sad for me.

Anyway, plenty of thanks to the fine folks who worked hard to run Gunota Headlines all these years, bringing to us all the timely Gundam updates. I'll miss that site for sure.

Some fast updates on Chara Hobby 2008. We look at the Gundam section first:

MG Infinite Justice! It's indeed sharper - look at his V-Fin. ^^

MG Shin Matsunaga's Customized High Mobility Type Zaku II Ver. 2.0. Was wondering if Bandai will release this one as well when Johnny Ridden's Zaku II was announced. No info on its price or release date as yet.

HGUC Geara Doga's prototype on display.

BB Senshi 00 Gundam - November, 630 Yen.

HG GN-XIII - October reelase, price TBA, and
HG Ahead - November release, 1,050 Yen

Robot Damashii Arios Gundam I think.

Robot Damashii GP01Fb - 2009 release

Plated 1/144 Exia - limited item? And MG Strike Freedom Plated Ver.

SDX Knight Gundam and FG Gundam Ecopla ^^

Another OffShoot Burai variation.

More updates soon.

And Heads will Roll!

Actually, it's just my head ^^;

But no thank you... I like where my head is... ^^;

Call it my very own version of 'aftermath' from the recent Toys and Anime Convention Kuching 2008 where I saw Max Factory's 1/8 Haruhi on display at the booth of Swinburne Anime and Manga Society. I started asking around whether I could get one myself, but without much hope actually, since I realized it was released for so long already, and I heard the demand over it was extremely hot. Getting one in Kuching won't be so soon anyway.

But when I found out that there's a local shop that had one for sale a couple of days ago, and it was an first-hand version with the box totally unopened before, I just lost my head and...

Wuhhuh! My first figurine, and my most favorite one as well.

No plan to take her out from the box as yet. Not even planning to open the box too ^^

Figurine collectors might be laughing their heads off seeing how a noob like me handle his first figurine, but really, Ngee Khiong's feeling right now is like

There are many other figurines I like, but Haruhi has always being on my list. Apart from the design, the price is another huge issue. At 3,800 Yen, this Haruhi is perhaps one of the few 'side-line' hobby products I could get my treasury (wallet) to approve, as the priority of this sort of expenditure always goes to Gunpla.

Speaking of my wallet, ...

Not this serious of course ^^;

Of course I didn't make my purchase recklessly. Even with Haruhi purchased, I won't have to go through the life of eat-bread-drink-pipe-water anytime XD. But some items of secondary and tertiary priorities has to be canceled from my list of course. Some older wish list items like God Keron, HGUC Psycho Gundam, HMM 1/72 Saber Tiger,and several others have been pushed further and further down the list. Previously, I planed on getting them before the end of this year. No the date is "TBA" ^^;

Thanks to my finally-faltered resistance towards Haruhi. ^^;

Zaku II and Rick Dom's passion is running wild too XD ...

... maybe a bit too wild there ^^;

HGUC Geara Doga & New 00 Season 2 Teaser EDITED

EDITED: Added photos of Kahen Senshi Zeta Gundam.

Good news for Zeon fans:

HGUC Geara Doga - November release, 1,890 Yen (with tax). I'll wait for Rezin's blue version ^^

Image from Toysdaily.

Next up, new photos of Kahen Senshi Zeta Gundam from Amiami:

Late September release, 6,825 Yen (inclusive of tax).

This Kahen Senshi Zeta was announced quite some time ago, and I kind-of forgot that it's still not out yet. ^^; As a matter of fact, interested fans will have to wait for another two or three weeks before its official release in Japan. With the 'trend' of Zeta slowing diminishing after the end of its theatrical trilogy (for quite some time now as well), lets hope Bandai knows what they are doing with this kind of scheduling. ^^;

Also, (yet another) new teaser for Gundam Double O Season 2:

Video clip from Youtube. Follow this link to Youtube if you can't see anything.

Stuff to look out for:
- Marina in trouble!
- Saji's conversation with Setsuna

C3 Limited Rick Dias & Schuzrum Dias

Apart from GFF Gundam RX-78-2 Ver. Ka Clear Color Ver. by Bandai, and Prototype Delta Gundam by Studio Reckless mentioned yesterday, another two limited Gundam models to be available at C3 this year is 1/144 resin kits of Rick Dias and Schuzrum Dias, both from Wave.

The height of the completed model is about 17cm tall.

The design of this Rick Dias might seems rather strange to many, as its appearance is not the same as the one in Zeta Gundam. This garage kit is actually based on Mamoru Nagano's design, who is actually the principal designer of the MS. Mamoru Nagano-senshe is most famous for his work in Five Star Stories. Personally, my favorite pick among his work is of course Haman Kahn's Qubeley.

When you think about Rick Dias and Qubeley, you would be able to tell that Mamoru Nagano-senshe's designs don't really seem to belong in the UC world ^^;

RMS-099B Schuzrum Dias is the upgraded version of Rick Dias in ZZ Gundam. Operated by Neo Zeon, this MS didn't really get much screen time in the anime actually.

The height of the completed model is about 23cm tall.

Rick Dias is priced at 18,000 Yen, while Schuzrum Dias is 7,000 Yen more expensive - 25,000 Yen (tax included). Available on August 30th and 31st at C3.

On the other hand, Bandai has updated the price for their C3 Limited BB Senshi Knight Gundam Plated Ver. The previous price of 8,000 Yen has now being reduced to 5,000 Yen, according to Bandai Hobbynet.

Also, Chara Hobby's official site also listed FG Gundam RX-78-2 Ecopla (more info. about Ecopla in this previous posting) to be available at this year's event. Not sure about the details of the selling of this kit though.
