The primary construction work of the 18m tall Tetsujin 28 statue located at Wakamatsu Park (若松公園) in Shinnagata, Kobe (神戸 新長田) was completed yesterday (September 29th).
The construction was initiated on July 27th by the Mayor of Kobe. Since then, workers have been busy assembling the giant robot, as you can see the in construction progress report in this previous posting. And finally, after 2 months, the whole statue is completed.
According to previous report, the opening ceremony will be on October 4th. However, work is still going on to improve on the feet part, most probably to add a proper display base for the statue. The work is expected to finish by late November.
Then again, folks living near the area can go and have a look now. Tetsujin 28 isn't going anywhere anyway XD
