18 Meter Tetsujin 28 in Kobe Progress Report

While the 1/1 scale Gundam RX-78-2 statue of Gundam RX-78-2 is currently being dismantled at Shiokaze Part, the 18m tall Tetsujin 28 statue in Kobe is reported to be entering its last few stages of construction ^^

As a recap, the statue is at Wakamatsu Park (若松公園) in Shinnagata, Kobe (神戸 新長田). It's part of a bigger project to commemorate Mitsuteru Yokoyama-sensei, the creator of Tetsujin 28, who passed away in 2004. The project is funded by donation from fans, collected since June 17th 2006. It's scheduled to be completed by the end of this month, and will be officially opened on October 4th.

More information in this previous posting, and this one as well.
