Bandai Development Abyss

This is a posting I've been compiling for some time now. ^^

The first title that came to my mind was actually "Bandai Development Hell" instead of "Abyss". I've been calling it so for some years now before this posting. ^^; Both are not pleasant at all ^^; but they do reflect on the possibility of these items. ^^;

Yup, that's right. Items that were announced, with prototypes made, and were even displayed at hobby events, but went missing after that are what this posting is about. Where do they go? Why are they being shelved? Will they ever get released? These are the questions fans have been asking ever since I believe. I'm not from Bandai so I can't say much, but I can let some of them resurface again through this posting

MG Marasai, The O - Displayed at Shiokaze Hobby Show 2002 (May 2002)

Prices were set for the two of them as well: Marasai - 4,000 Yen and The O - 8,000 Yen.

MG "Fighting Action" Gundam Maxter, Rising Gundam, Nobel Gundam, Dragon Gundam - Displayed at Shiokaze Hobby Show 2002 (May 2002)

At least Gundam Spiegel and Shining Gundam made it through. ^^;

Images above from Model Kit World No. 139 (July 2002 issue)

Sword and Launcher pack for PG Strike Gundam - Displayed at Shiokaze Model Show 2005 (May 2005).

Redesigned into the MG release of Sword/Launcher Strike I believe.

Gundam Collection Series 1/400 Carrier Gaw - Displayed at Shiokaze Model Show 2005 (May 2005).

Musai went through though.

Images above are from Model Kit World No. 175 (July 2005 issue)

G.F.F. Zeonography and 00 Region - Displayed at Tamashii Nation 2009 (March 2009).

Zaku Minelayer, Hi-Zack, Dra-C

Zaku Cannon Dark Yellow & Green

Gundam Thrones

No information about them at all after the event ^^;

S.H. Figuarts Master Asia - Displayed at Chara Hobby 2008 (August 2008).

As the perfect counterpart of S.H. Figuarts Domon Kasshu, but no more news after the event.

Robot Damashii [Side MS] GP01Fb

One of the earliest item announced after the Robot Damashii line was created. The only one which didn't make it as well. Very pitiful.

G.F.F. Metal Composite O Gundam - Announced in Hobby Japan June 2009 Issue (April 2009).

Temporary sensation?

Normal Scale Sangokuden Kan-U Double Zeta Gundam & Chouhi Zeta Gundam - From Gunpla Expo (Hong Kong) 2009 (July 2009).

And of course, the almighty MG Nightingale. I've seen an image of its prototype on display at a certain event years ago. MG Hi-Nu Gundam came and go, HGUC Hi-Nu Gundam came and go, and still no news about it ^^;

Some other items like Robot Damashii [Side HL] Zegapain Altair and [Side LFO] Spearhead shown at Tamashii Nation 2009 Autumn (October 2009) are not in the list because it's a little too early to say that they are not going to be released.

I'm sure you can name even more items I missed out here.
