Mount Fuji will be 1/1 Gundam RX-78-2 Statue's Backdrop

According to Shizuoka City's official site and 47news (Japan), when the 1/1 scale Gundam statue is erected again in July, fans will not get to see him in close distance, Mount Fuji will become the backdrop of the statue as well. One can imagine the awesome scenery to come from such setting.

It's also clear that the organizer wants to establish Gundam to be close to Mount Fuji's status, if not the same, to represent the country of Japan.

The new location of the statue is at a public-owned land in front of JR Higashi-Shizuoka Station, Aoi-ku, Shizuoka, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan (JP東静岡駅前の市有地 - 同市葵区長沼).
