One particular 1/48 scale Mega Size Model Gundam RX-78-2 produced by someone with the Aucfan ID "qqsf2005" had successfully auctioned his work for the whooping 131,000 Yen (USD $1392 or RM 4,493).
The auctioned price is about 17 times more than the original price tag of the Gunpla (7,800 Yen exclusive of tax).
Apart from the neat painting, there are many metal accessories installed on various parts of the model as well.
The start-off bid was 40,000 Yen on April 16th, which saw an increment to 48,000 Yen and then 60,000 Yen in 2 days. The fourth bidder must had seen a major treasure in the model and jacked up the bid for more than 100 percent to 130,000 Yen. Eventually the deal landed in another person's hands with 1,000 Yen more than that previous bid.
All happened in 2 days. ^^;
Another completed model of 1/48 scale Mega Size Model Gundam RX-78-2 is being auctioned on Yahoo! Japan Auction at 45,000 Yen (USD $477 or RM 1,541, 6 times more than the original price).
This particular model has lighting effect installed in its head.
The start-off bid is 45,000 Yen, but unfortunately for this modeler, no one has placed any bid yet since the item was placed two days ago. The deal will close in 4 days.
