The project just commenced yesterday, by Fuji-Q Highland, an amusement park at the foot of Mount Fuji in Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi, Japan. The design of the bust will be based on Shinji's meeting with Eva Unit 1 from the anime. The selection is based on the result from a poll it seems.
Scheduled to be completed on July 23rd, Fuji-Q Highland has planned a new section of the theme park dedicated to the bust. Apart from that, the new section will include:
- life-size cockpit of Eva (for photo taking at a fee)
- life-size statue"Kaworu Nagisa"
- Studio gallery for photo taking
- Museum
- Shop
There is a dedicated section on Fuji-Q Highland's website for the progress report on the construction of the bust. The date for any update is not set, so do check on it from time to time if you're interested in the progress.
