Tamashii Collectors' 560mm Tall Sagittarius Release Canceled

A rather shocking and disappointing news from Tamashii Web:

The release of Tamashii Collectors Saint Seiya Gold Cloth Object Sagittarius has been officially canceled.

Announced back in November last year, this statue seems awe-inspiring in almost all areas, be it the size (height: 560mm x width: 580mm x dimension: 520mm), mighty bling-bling paint job, very exclusive high-gloss finish display base equipped with 4 LEDs, or even the price of 105,000 Yen (inclusive of tax).

Even the huge S.I.C. Hero Saga Kuuga Ultimate Form [Dark Side] announced during the same time seems pale as compared to it.

The actual release of this statue however, is not so smooth though. Originally announced to be available in February, the release date was then adjusted to March, then it was postponed all the way till end of June. The reason given by Bandai, is that there were a lot of difficulties in fixing errors during the painting process. But it seems that they were unable to solve the problem even with all the change of release dates, and finally they had to cancel the whole project.

To think that this kind of anti-climatic turn of event would come from Bandai is a bit unimaginable. It's a very exclusive item for the niche market alright, since not many people could afford such expensive item, but I believe Bandai's credibility and image will suffer a bit because of this incident.
