I believe it's not hard for you to notice that he is actually designed after S Gundam. The Incom and vertical antennas on its head pretty much say it all.
Then again, Kanpei (关平, Guan Ping) is Kan U's (关羽, Guan Yu) son in the original novel of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms. So I'm wondering whether Sangokuden will maintain such relationship for the two XD
