Limited 1/2000 SDF-1 Macross New Images

More information and images of Yamato's humongous release of 1/2000 Complete Transformation Macross SDF-1 Prototype Model Kit (Heavy Duty Polyurethane Ver.).

Very exclusive this release is going to be. As mentioned in this previous posting, it's going to be a Yamato Web Shop limited release. Those who are seriously thinking to purchasing this need to be quick as well, as the window for pre-order opens now till December 20th.

Less than one month to decide if you can afford 210,000 Yen (inclusive of tax and 10,000 Yen deposit when you pre-order) for this monster. There isn't much time to think really ^^;

The items will be released starting late December.

Yamato has interesting introduction on the kit itself as well.

Inspection of the resin parts done by craftsmen. For quality assurance, Yamato produces at most 10 of this kit per month, which will result in release of the item by batches in one go.

Design for ease of assembly (1): No runner, just parts ^^

Design for ease of assembly (2): Some parts come grouped in sets, so one only needs to enforce the assembly by using screws or glue following the manual.

Design for ease of assembly (3): Surface of the parts are specially treated, no surfacer required before painting the parts.

Design for the fun of transformation (1): Joints are made of wear-resistant materials, so posability after the transformation is assured.

Design for the fun of transformation (2): Magnets are used to joint the arms to the elbow.
