1/100 00 Gundam

Still a few days away from its official release date (November 21st), but some folks in Japan are already getting their hands full building 1/100 00 Gundam.

Absolute Gunpla has done and reviewed one:

*Thank goodness* The beam parts are in. There was no mentioning of them at all in the past, I almost thought Bandai would forget about them XD

The shoulder joints look like that from early SEED MGs.

Apart from having more parts to accurately represent the colors, the assembly method is almost identical to that of the HG 1/144 scale version...

... same thing goes for the arm unit as well.

The main attraction of this 1/100 kit I suppose? Twin GN Drives with light-up effect - requires two CR1220 batteries.

The "mysterious hole" on the backpack of the 1/144 scale version is replaced by two rectangular insertion points. ^^

(On the right is the comparison to the 1/144 scale version)

I can't be sure from the picture, but it seems that the pelvis joint for this 1/100 scale version is going to be the ball-single (thigh joint is not separated from the upper leg) type... less articulation?
The 1/144 scale has straight insertion-double joints.
As compared to 1/144 and 1/100 Exia, Bandai's doing the reverse for 00 Gundam instead.

The beam sabers are the "round-headed" type, the normal ones used by MGs.

Bandai has abandoned the design of having extensive exterior details for Season 2 1/100s it seems.
